Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Beaune
Visit the uncontested wine capital of Burgundy and one of the smallest, most exquisite French town. Its Hotel-Dieu is famous all over the world!
Day 2: Beaune - Côte de Nuits (53 km / 33 miles)
Our excursion to discover the famous area Côte de Nuits known for the Grands Vins de Bourgogne and more especially the red wines - Chambolle Musigny, Vosne Romanée is on Day 2. This area also produces the most expensive and highly sought after Romanée Conti. You’ll also have the chance to experience some of the flavours of medieval Burgundy, such as the Château du Clos de Vougeot and the château of Gevrey Chambertin.
Day 3: Beaune – Châteauneuf (38 km / 23 miles)
Still traveling through the famous Burgundy vineyards, you will reach the Ouche Valley, crossing the Canal de Bourgogne to arrive in Châteauneuf, a picturesque ancient village perched on high, protected by its château dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries!
Day 4: Châteauneuf – Autun (53 km / 33 miles)
Cycling through the picturesque countryside, you’ll soon reach the town of Arnay le Duc and its charming medieval centre before continuing to Autun. Napoléon Bonaparte is rumoured to have dreamed of a glorious victory whilst sleeping near the roman remains - The Arroux Gate, the St André Gate and the Theatre.
Day 5: Autun – Beaune (63 km / 39 miles)
Today's journey takes you back to the vineyards via the Renaissance Château de Sully and the pretty town Nolay - a charming village with its preserved 14th-century covered market, and bordered by the Hautes Côtes de Beaune vineyards. Continue your journey to the Château de La Rochepot - a magnificent fortress with glazed tile roofs, and the Côte de Beaune. The latter is famous for its prestigious white wines such as Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, and Chassagne Montrachet, bringing you the taste of sheer Burgundy delight!
